Hudson Valley Native Gerit Hillegas, 24, Survived By Son

Goshen native Gerit Claire Hillegas died on Jan. 27. She was 24.

Gerit of Maybrook was working as a certified nursing assistant for Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center before the birth of her son Ryker.

She is survived by her son, Ryker Joseph Carney; father Robert L. Hillegas; mother Melissa E. Monroe-Hillegas; sister Jamie E Hillegas; significant other and Ryker's father Cory J Carney; beloved cat Moo; and her dear and loving friends.

She was predeceased by grandparents Donald and Bernice Hillegas, and James and Janet Monroe; uncles, Todd K. Monroe and Donald L. Hillegas, beloved dog Diesel, several aunts and uncles.
